The latest scan indicates that the GNU Notepad++ 5.9.2 application is marked as insecure. This is the latest version of the application and there does not seem to be any indication of the reason for the indication.

Anyone know what the issue may be?

Neil

Neil,
This subject has been raised here:

and here:

Secunia have been tinkering with version rules today & this could be a spin off from it.

Secunia Support are unlikely to clarify the situation until Monday.

Hope this is helpful.

Neil,
I have downloaded the programme & submitted a new programme suggestion to Secunia.

I have also pointed out that I believe it is a "false positive" from their database.

As previously stated I suspect little will happen until Monday. Sorry I cannot help further.

Thanks for the info on this false positive. Could you also let Secunia know that when you click on "troubleshoot report" in the toolbox, it generates a report, instructing to copy and paste the body of the report to the forums. However, copy and paste to the clipboard is not available on right click after highlighting the relevant text.

It will not be - it is a text file. Use the keyboard - CTRL+C = Copy CTRL+V posts it to the Forum.

Hi,

There is no vulnerability in Notepad++ (In this version, and at this date), and this issue was caused by some version rules created while testing some planned new features.

The issue should have been resolved, and we appologize for any inconvenience.

A full PSI scan has removed the false positive on my test PC.

If U get the same favourable result my advice is to lock (Accept) the thread to protect your mail box from update emails from any "tag on" posts.
