There was already a related thread about this. My current versions of Chrome and Chrome Frame were already 13, when Secunia reported versions 12 as obsolete. After deleting both old versions, I did a rescan and there was a "changed dected" popup about Chrome, but it was still marked as unsafe because of the old version of Chrome Frame, no matter how often I did a rescan.
However after maybe 5 or 10 minutes, I got a second "change detected" popup about the deleted Chrome Frame version 12.

So the resscan did not seem to work at all in this case, I just had to waint until the PSI detected the change by itself, while I am expecting a more or less instant response when I click on something...
Maybe this can be improved? Just displaying "rescan scheduled" will do.

Depends what rescan U did. If it was a (limited) programme only rescan there is a time delay.

If U completed a full PSI scan it should change immediately on completion of the scan.

Hi Maurice,

As it concerned just a single program, I just clicked on the rescan link of the program. The only feedback I got was that the line with the path of the unsafe program disappeared for a very short moment and then reappeared again.
On other occasions, I deleted the program, clicked on its "rescan" link and shortly thereafter my score was 100% again. That's the correct behaviour I was expecting with Chrome Frame as well.

Regards,
Adrie van Dijk.

Nice to hear from U. As explained some times it does appear to falter.

Many on the Forum do not use the single programme rescan feature but prefer the full PSI rescan which always gives an instant update picture.

Well on my computer a full scan takes considerably longer than scanning a single program, that's why I try to use it.

But how should I actually interpret your answer?
a. It works fine, or:
b. Single program rescan is known to be somewhat crippled, but nothing will be done about it.?

Regards,
Adrie.

Just that it can be slow to react some times as U described. As long as U are aware of that factor use it as normal if U think it remains a quicker option than a full rescan.

I can do a full scan in less than 30 seconds so, like many others, prefer a full rescan which avoids any possible "time hangs".

Hope this helps.

So it seems to be answer b.

Full scan on my 8 year old computer takes over 6 minutes.
In particular "collecting information" and "Determining missing Microsoft security patches" take quiet a while.

The problem with single program rescan it not just reacts sometimes slow like you say, but the lack of feedback that it is reacting at all.
And yes, when you know there is no feedback, you can live it, but still I think it should be improved.
