I have run Secunia and patched or removed vulnerable software and now have a score of 99%. The 1% problem is Sun Java 1.3x. I updated to Sun Java JRE 1.6/6x after installing the solution to the JRE 1.3x vulnerability but the scan still picks up 1.3x but I cannot find it to uninstall. I have Windows Vists Home Premium.
Does anyone have any ideas about what I need to do?

Thanks in anticipation

E-Chen

Didn't mean to shut it down - just thought it was a helpful response so I accepted without realising what I was doing. I'm new here.

The software is still alive, kicking and vulnerable on my system.

Thanks for re-opening the thread.

Best Regards

There is a slight issue with your JAVA in that it has been embedded in a programme by Ubisoft. They produce games like Scrabble.

U need to contact Ubisoft support to get an updated version of the programme that has the latest JAVA version. Their site is here:

http://www.ubi.com/UK/Default.aspx

Failing that U can always uninstall the programme which will clear out the JAVA element.

Hi,

Just wanted to add that if you run a full rescan this program will no longer be detected.

Since this was embedded in the Ubisoft Game Launcher, there would be no reason to detect it, as you cannot update it independently.

For the program to be considered insecure, there has to be a proven insecure library loading flaw with the program.

Hope this helps.
