OK - that flash is embedded in that programme - is it fully up to date?

I'm not sure, but I think Earthlink does auto updates. I've had it so long I'm not sure. I'll nose around to see. Thanks

OK - it is a set up file so try this which has worked before with Earthlink issues.

ONCE COMPLETE DO NOT EMPTY THE RECYCLE BIN UNTIL U HAVE FULLY TESTED EARTHLINK IS WORKING TO YOUR SATISFACTION - IF NOT RESTORE THE FILE FROM THE BIN

DELETING A FILE OR FOLDER USING PSI VERSION 2

To delete a vulnerable file or folder found by PSI try this:

1. Open PSI>Scan results.

2. Against the programme marked as vulnerable is a + sign to the left of it.

3. Click that & it will reveal DETECTED INSTANCES.

4. Below that are two yellow folders. Click the one WITHOUT a red dot.

5. That will open Windows Explorer & U will be able to see the vulnerable files or folders.
C:\Program Files\EarthLink Setup\Windows\access\program files\EarthLink TotalAccess\Flash.ocx, version: 6.0.65.0 (ActiveX)

6. Right click on it & select delete.

7. Carry out a full PSI scan & all should be in order.

Hi,

Since this is an embedded instance of Flash player, there is no need to detected it.

Therefore, if you run a full scan, you should no longer be seeing this file.

Hope this helps.

Emil and Maurice,

Emil, Since the problem shoed up, several Full Scns have been done. I just did another and it continues to show up.

Maurice, I,m thinking I shou;d contact Earthlink Support too do somethig about the situation. Removing as you sugest, seems like I will then have problems with Erthlink software.

Maybe I should just ignore the situation and be happy with my 99% report. :)

If anything else comes to mind please let me know.

Don,
Certain contact Earthlink but U are very safe ridding the file - it looks like an old set up file that is not been deleted/overwriiten.

As my solution suggests if it does not work U can easily restore it from the Recycle Bin.

The last Earthlink problem on the Forum was identical & it worked. Entirely up to U but I would not ignore it at this stage.

I am surprised it is still showing after a full PSI scan given that the Secunia Official has changed the scan for this object.

Thanks for the reply. I have dealt with Earthlink support several times over the years and I'm NOT looking forward to do again, so I will do as you suggested. It makes alot of sence to me. :)

Maurice,

YEA!! I did it and it worked. :) Actually Earthlink has been running ragged for so long, I had gotten used to it. Now it's running smooth and faster. I checked to see if removing caused any problems with other sites, all seems to be fine. I'll leave the file in Recycle for a couple days just to be sure.

Thanks again for your help, if you were near Palm Springs I
d buy ya a drink. :)

Now if I can get Quicktime reloaded, I'll be all set. lol
