carolhope scan keeps aborting

I installed secunia psi yesterday on this computer and it will not scan. It races through the scan in 3-4 seconds and then aborts. I have tried uninstalling & re installing, and have rebooted the computer loads of times. I have never had this problem before on my other computers. I'm getting very frustrated as I know what a good program this is.

During the scan U can watch which items are being scanned.


At what stage does it abort?

Have U checked all the setting are correct from the details in the FAQ here:

It aborts at 'matching data with secunia file signatures engine'. The 'determining missing microsoft security patches' stays green after scan has aborted, so I checked my microsoft updates & rebooted yet again. This time secunia scanned for 41 seconds before aborting, but still at the same point.

Have U tried this from the FAQ link I gave U?

1.Open the control panel
2.Open Internet Options > Security tab. In Windows7/Vista you may need to click 'Network and Internet' to access the Internet Options
3.Select the Internet zone and click on the Custom Level button.
4.In Security Settings, go to the Scripting>Active Scripting option.
5.Make sure that Active Scripting is enabled (rather than Disabled or Prompted).
6.Press OK then Yes.
7.Back in the Security tab, select the Trusted sites zone and click on the Sites button.
8.Type in the following and press the Add button to add it to the Trusted Sites list:
https://*.secunia.com
9.Press Close, then OK.
10.Run the Secunia PSI again to view the scan results.

I assume from the relevancy scoring that U have now fixed the issue.

I will lock this thread for U in a few hours time unless U post back asking for it to be left open.
