Yesterday I got an update via the internal updater, v. 6 update 29 to v. 6 update 30. This morning FileHippo updater offered a new version 1.7.0.2 32 bit which isn't available via the internal updater. Also, it's not marked as a beta version. Does anybody know if this version is reliable enough for home users?

Filehippo is an update scraper & should not be taken as reliable for update purposes.

This is from Oracle reference version 7.

Why is Java SE 7 not yet available on java.com?

The new release of Java is first made available to the developers to ensure no major problems are found before we make it available on the java.com website for end users to download the latest version. If you are interested in trying Java SE 7 it can be downloaded from Oracle.com

Hi Maurice, thanks for the explanation. After reading I remembered there was an earlier new
version which was made available for testers first. I do not install it before it's made available
via the internal update,

To clarify this statement.

Filehippo is an update scraper & should not be taken as reliable for update purposes.

It should read Filehippo is an update scraper & should not be taken as reliable SOURCE OF INFORMATION for update purposes.
