Emil,
This problem has also been reported here:
http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/118...

I have written to Secunia Support asking them to comment on this possible bug & your other thread here because I think they are linked:

Emil,
I am talking about the strange script U get when clicking the icon. This also happened to someone fixing Silverlight.

Please tell me if you have some answer from Secunia.

Yes, I would like to solve my problem because at the moment my Secunia System Score is 99%.

There are 2 elements to your threads.

1. U (and others) have found a possible minor bug with PSI in that an icon is not showing & it displays a script when U click it. I have emailed Secunia Support &, as posted, asked them to comment as & when they have time.

What normally happens is they investigate the issue & post to the Forum the solution/comment as & when time allows. They do not contact me with that information.

I do not work for or represent Secunia in any way & never send "chaser" emails knowing they are busy. We are in a waiting game.

2. Microsoft Project.

Even if there is a minor bug with PSI it will not solve your Microsoft Project 2000 issue.

I assume it is not showing as vulnerable but as End of Life.

Before I respond further to the Microsoft Project issue can U please confirm PSI is stating it is End of Life.

Secunia have downgraded your security rating because U have a programme installed that is End of Life.

Microsoft have withdrawn all active support for this version & will never enhance it nor will they produce any security hot fixes if it ever becomes vulnerable.

U have choices.

1. Create an ignore rule having taken in to account what I have written above & carried out a Risk Assessment against the Secunia Advisories for Project listed here:

http://secunia.com/community/advisories/search/?se...

2. Uninstall Microsoft Project. There is no alternative that I know of that meets the requirement of this programme if U actively use it for work production.

3. Replace it by purchasing version 2010. The cost average is about 500GBP but some details are here:

http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/list/p...

and here

http://www.ciao.co.uk/sr/q-microsoft+project?AID=t...

The Microsoft page with some very old updates on is here:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/CD0010...

If U decide to retain it U can create an ignore rule as follows:

PROGRAMME EXCLUSION RULE

Open PSI>Scan results>expand any programme by clicking the "+" to the left Microsoft Project
This will reveal DETECTED INSTANCES and below it two Yellow Folders. Click the folder with the RED dot which will create an Ignore Rule for that item.

Hope this helps.

I have checked Microsoft webpage and there are about 150 files for Microsoft Project related with version 2000. Is there any way to do it automatically ? Why Microsoft Update doesn't detect them automatically ?

My answer above gives all the details & answers. Microsoft will not issue any updates, by whatever method, for Project 2000 now or in the future.

Hi,

Are you able to see the icon correctly before clicking it, or does it look there should be an image but isn't one?

I can't see it even before clicking. There should be some image but there is not.
