The only solution to this is to update to the latest version.

The latest version can only be purchased, with fixes to any potential vulnerabilities not available to legacy 8.x users.

Is there a true vulnerability here? or is this merely an end of life warning, alerting the user that a new version is available.

Comparable issue would be MS Office upgrades.

It is both vulnerable & End of Life.

http://www.adobe.com/support/security/advisories/a...

As with all End of Life programmes the vendor will not enhance them, fix bugs or make them secure if vulnerable - U have options:

1. Upgrade to the latest version (10)

2. Carry out a Risk Assessment against the Adobe advice (link above) & the Secunia Advisory - if U consider the risk small create a PSI Ignore Rule.

3. Uninstall the programme.
