I tried to update both and from the pop up that Secunia provided it was outdated and contining to the updated program when installing Media player it told me to close Internet Explorer which I had all ready closed and it wouldn't let me continue downloading. I went to the Adobe page and was able to install both Chrome and Flash and I v erified that I have the latest versions but Secunia will not recognize this. How do I fix this?

Without the troubleshoot report I can only asume they are embedded in those programmes.

I don't know what happened with the player but that seems to be now fixed when I clicked on it and clicked on + and opened that but now Chrome is giving me the same error and I have downloaded it many times.

Any solution I give will be pure guesswork without the Troubleshoot Report requested. I will unsubscribe until they are published.

I have just noticed U are a new member of the Forum. I have reworded my advice on how to publish a trouble shooting report to the Forum.

Could U please.

1. Run a full PSI scan.

2. Publish a troubleshoot report for EACH programme that is found to be Insecure/End of Life.

FINDING A FILE PATH

From the DASHBOARD page click on SCAN RESULTS.

1. This will list all your programmes with a + to the left of each one.
2. Click the + sign next to the item that U want help with.

DELETING A FILE OR FOLDER USING PSI VERSION 2

To delete a vulnerable file or folder found by PSI try this:

1. Open PSI>Scan results.

2. Against the programme marked as vulnerable is a + sign to the left of it.

3. Click that & it will reveal DETECTED INSTANCES.

4. Below that are two yellow folders. Click the one WITHOUT a red dot.

5. That will open Windows Explorer & U will be able to see the vulnerable files or folders.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\12.0.742.100\chrom e.dll, version: 12.0.742.100 (Business)

6. Right click on it & select delete.

7. Carry out a full PSI scan & all should be in order.

8. If this scan still produces more insecure or End of Life programmes please publish the Troubleshoot Report for each one.

I followed your directions I am using Windows 7, when I clicked on it to open in windows explorer I got a long list of names the one that was highlighted was chrome_frame_helper, there was nothing listed in program files under the c drive even if I clicked on the above helper. It said I had a file open and to close it I have no idea what I have open and I am really frustrated. Not only does my game icon no longer show correctly but now another program's icon also doesn't show correctly. Had I not done the 2 updates that secunia said I needed to do I wouldn't have this problem, not your fault but I have been working on this issue for 9 hours so excuse my being a bit short

Jo,
If Adobe Flash is still an issue when Chrome is fixed on this thread

http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/119...

can U please open a new thread outlining the current Flash problem & include the troubleshoot Report.

I will lock this thread to prevent any confusion with your other one & to protect your mail box from "tag on" posts.
