I use Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum in Windows XP Home and it contains ArcSoft VideoImpressions 1.x in it's Program Folder. Can I Delete ArcSoft and continue to use Easy CD Creator. I don't use it for Videos as I have Nero. I mostly use it to copy Data to CD's

Thank You
Hal

Hal,
Are there two separate entries for these programmes in Control Panel>add/remove?

There is one by itself that I uninstalled in ADD REMOVE, but ArcSoft Video Impression still shows end of life in Secunia. The other one shows in Secunia when I click on the + sign as being part of Creator 5 Platinum.

Thanks again
Hal

Hal,
Thank U for the information.

I think there is a bit of a mix up by Secunia with identification.

Adaptec was taken over by Roxio who then sold out to Corel this year. They own Easy CD Creator.

Not sure why Secunia have indicated the programme belongs to Arcsoft - as far as I am aware they remain an independent Company.

I also note Secunia have not given U a download link. That is a mystery too because it would point to who they claim the vendor is to upgrade/find more details.

I will email support & ask them to comment on your query.

I believe they are trying to tell users that Easy CD Creator 5 is End of Life not a component.

Interesting to see what Secunia say.

Secunia are aware that the user PC details are not accurate in the Scan Results page or thhe troubleshoot report.

Please perform a full system rescan with the PSI and let us know if that has now fixed the issue.

Hal,
Can U confirm U have completed a full PSI rescan. If so may be worth another one to see if it remains.

Hi,

If you run a full rescan this problem should no longer occur.

Hope this helps.

Hal,
At last! Pleased to see U are all fixed up.

On that basis, I will lock this thread for U sometime tomorrow unless U post back asking for it to be left open.

This will protect your mail box from possible update emails from Forum "tag on" posts

You can of course lock your own threads yourself. Just click the ACCEPT button in the post of the helper who offered U the best solution/advice to solve your problem.

Secunia Support can always reopen threads by applying by email to: support@secunia.com
