The Microsoft XML Core has been "updating" for 3 days now with no change. PSI 3 shows version 4.20.9876.0 and path to file C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msxml4.dll How do I update it, or is it already up to date but appears not to be? I rescanned it with no change. I have a windows 7 pc. Is secunia compatible with Norton 360 or Immunet antimalware? This is the second time a program would not update properly. Are there any settings I should check?

I agree only I also have Flash player 'updating' as well:-

Adobe Flash Player 11.x (ActiveX)File location (doubleclick to open)Installed version
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\Flash32_11_3_30 0_271.ocx 11.3.3

Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 4.xFile location (doubleclick to open)Installed version
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msxml4.dll 4.20.9876.0

I've Checked & that is the latest version of Flash.
I can tell Secunia to ignore but I shouldn't have to do that.

Maybe a Secunia update is needed?

Thanks for that.
I did some more reading and I also just found the page you kindly sent me.

I've applied the Microsoft msxml patch but The Adobe patch does not want to install because it says the software I already have is newer.

I've decided to omit that program from being included in my Secunia score.
Now I'm 100% again :)

@dave 7072

Adobe Flash 11.300.271 is not the latest version & is vulnerable. The latest is 11.4.402.265.

If you want to remain "properly" secure you should reverse the ignore action and do this:

UPDATING THE STANDALONE ADOBE FLASH PLAYER

1. Download & SAVE these to desktop.

IE & Other Browsers using ActiveX.

http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/curren...

& then here, if U have any other type of browser that does not have Flash embedded.

http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/curren...

2. The installer will appear on the desk top. THE IMPORTANT BIT - Before agreeing to install Flash check these programmes are completely shut down (use the Task Manager if necessary (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) to COMPLETELY EXIT these processes if running)):
a. All Browsers.
b. Windows Messenger.
c. Incredimail.
d. All Adobe Products.
e. PSI - Unless using version 2 or version 3
f. Microsoft Skype & Plus! For Skype

3. The new install will then remove all old files during the update process.

4. Complete a full PSI rescan & all should be in order.

Optional - Go to Start>Control Panel>click the Flash Player (32 Bit) icon>check the settings are to your requirements.

Update 22 09:14 30/08/2012
