1.After a recent PSI scan, I was advised that Adobe Acrobat v8.3.1.289 was detected as being End-of-Life.

2.When I tried "Install Solution", I received the following message:
"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing. or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch."

3. When I tried to upgrade my Adobe Acrobat, Adobe advised no upgrades are available.

4. PSI's Troubleshoot report gave me the following:
Program Name:
Adobe Acrobat 8.x
Security State:
End of Life
Download Link: Instances Found:
C: \Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe, version: 8.3.1. 289
Last System Scan (localtime):
11. Sep 2012, 22:38
Operating System:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional,

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Thank you,
Win XP-Pro
Dell 690

'End of Life' means that the product is no longer supported. In the case of Acrobat 8, Adobe stopped support in November 2011.

You would need to buy a supported version of Acrobat.
