I was trying to make a PSI check with the older version (which did not work) yesterday and found out that there is an update PSI so I installed it.
I was seeing the tray (on the bottom right side) which said that 1 program needed a manual update. However, the opening screen sticks on "Loading" and Secunia won't open. I've used PSI for some years and was always very content and never had this problem.
Win 7 Home Home Premium 64bit, 16 GB RAM . PSI version is 3.0.0.6001. Active scripting is enabled and Secunia is in the trusted programs. Firefox 18.01, Kaspersky Security Suite.

I uninstalled Secunia, estinguished the folder in C:\\programm (86)....restarted the computer and re-installed it .....always the same result ...the opening screen sticks on "Loading" and Secunia does not open.
On the identical laptop of my hushand with same configuration - Secunia starts!!!! he is using LAN however I am using WLAN - we checked the setting in Kasperky (their are identical).
Suggestions?

I tried all replies given to froglady4647 ....they did not work

You may not have noticed but I have just closed the @froglady4647 thread.

It appears to have repaired itself. If you have been through "the hoops" trying to fix it then it may be a good idea to do nothing for a while & just try the odd attempt to open the interface.

You are logged on as an administrator?

If you have definitely checked all the settings outlined in the FAQ I would do this:

Open Windows Explorer & delete the current log files - see screen shot for details:

https://akkkug.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pvpP2x8EfT0...

Now try the log on procedure a few times & it will create a new log.

Send that log to Secunia Support at support@secunia.com & refer to this thread as the reference or publish it to the Forum using CTRL+C to copy & CTRL+V to paste

I am having the same problem as the original poster. Secunia PSI 3.0.0.2003. I have been using this program successfully for a long time, but just this week this problem occurred. My system is Windows 7 64-bit, and I am running over wi-fi. My user account is set up as an administrator.

I noticed my Secunia PSI icon in the systray had turned red so tried to bring up the program, but the Secunia PSI screen is frozen at the "Loading" phase.

I think it's interesting that both the original poster and I just had this same problem in the same week. Perhaps it is related to an update in another common application?

Thanks,
Emily Smith

Emily,
They could be related but at the moment Secunia have server issues. The Programme is/will not load, the Forum is "wobbly" & xSI is a "dead duck".

Worth waiting awhile to see how it pans out.

I followed the suggestion above and deleted both logfiles. The psialog.txt is recreated but not the other. It keeps growing as the program continues to sit at the "loading" screen, but here is a snippet of the file (psialog.txt):

Emily,
That does not look to be correct.
Have you checked the PSI User ID in the Registry is not corrupt?

While in the Registry check your default browser is also set up correctly.

If unsure how to do it I can give simple instructions but need to know what is normally your default browser.

EDIT:
The Forum,PSI & xSI are now running normally. Give it another try.

@Ziff
Slightly different issue. Try this.

Exit the programme. Now restart it from the Tasktray - your results should be up to date.

Now try another scan & it should finish much quicker.

It's fine now -- I had been away for awhile. I didn't check the registry or anything, so looks like the problem was on your end, but it's fixed now.

Thanks!

Emily,
I do not work for or represent Secunia. If it is now working OK there is no reason to check any settings.

It is fairly easy to check when the Secunia servers are down. If your browser works doing normal routine work but PSI fails to start or the Forum is slow/will not load then it is not the programme or your PC.

It is just a case of waiting for Secunia to fix it.

Okay, was assuming you were with Secunia since you mentioned the servers being down. I haven't encountered this problem before that I'm aware of anyway, but all is well now. Thanks again!

After deinstallation of INTERNET EXPLORER PRE-RELEASE and going back to version 9
everything works!!!

I hope that this might be the problem of the other users too and it helps.
