On Februry 27th I installed the latest version of Flash Player on 3 machines. After installation both the NPAPI and ActiveX versions showed up in PSI. But after a rescan this morning ActiveX disappeared again. As far as I know this problem was solved but now I'm not sure. Maybe support can tell me?

It has been on & off for days - provided you have Active X filtered switched on you should be OK.

Hi Maurice, I don't understand what's 'ActiveX filtered switched on'. Checked in windows/syswow64 and found Flash PlayerApp & Flash PlayerCPLApp.cpl. Clicking on them shows a menu with some options but didn't find anything like you say.

Open IE>tools>from the dropdown box click on Active X filtering - that will put a tick (check mark) to the left of that entry.

Flash is now off.

If something requires Flash you will get a message or prompt something like "Flash is required or not installed". Just reverse the procedure to use Flash.

By default I have filtering on but not everyones "cup of tea".

If you are interested in keeping a constant eye on Flash you can also use the Qualy's Browser Checker here:

Hi Maurice, done that and ActiveX showed up after a PSI scan. And thanks for telling me about the Qualis browsercheck. I'll investigate how it works.
