PSI is telling me i need to do a manual update of a program. I open PSI and skype icon is sitting at top and says "updating skype" but nothing happens. When I put my cursor over the skype icon I get a circle going round and round as if something is happening. i think something is hung up. I don't use skype. should I just uninstall it?

It is good practise to uninstall any programme that is not used & I would recommend that action.

For those who use Skype and want to update it:

Open Skype, go to Help and check for updates.

When update is complete, click Scan Again button lower left corner of Secunia window.

If re-scanning seems like it's taking too long (mine did), then close and re-open Secunia and click Scan Again. (it should only take a few mins then).

Unfortunately, the new version-format of Secunia doesn't let you re-scan individual programs, so you have to re-scan your whole drive for it to register the Skype update.

Yes, everything is fine. I uninstalled Skype and my PSI logo is back to being green. Thank you.

I had read previous posts on a Skype forum from about a year ago with a similar problem and people were having a great deal of trouble with Skype updates. So I took the easy way out and uninstalled the program since I don't use it.
