Brand new HP laptop Windows 7 64 bit. Installed latest version of Secunia from Secunia website. The following message comes up from Secunia "Windows Update is not installed" and prompts to go to update.microsoft.com at which point nothing loads in the IE windows- if it did it would simply say to access windows update click on the start menu.

Check Windows Update- Windows is up to date
Troubleshoot Windows Update- no problems to fix
Uninstall and reinstall Secunia- no change

I can see from the change log from May 2nd, 2013 there was a problem with windows update
"Windows update check causing the Secunia PSI to get stuck on the scanning page. Fixed."

Any suggestions?

I have updates listed in Hidden updates but, they are duplicates of already installed updates.

Can I safely delete these ? Will this remove the " Windows Update not installed " from being displayed ?

You should first unhide the updates & then run a manual Windows Update scan.

That will prove whether they are installed or not.

I restored the hidden updates and installed them. Windows update check returned with no new updates.

The " Windows Update not installed " notification is still displayed in Secunia PSI,
how do I remove this ?

Should I remove the program and then reinstall it ?

I would try a reinstall of PSI. Just activate the download link - it will auto remove the old version & install the new.

Which OS are you using?

Will try the reinstall.

Using Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit, Firefox 21.0

Update:

I did the reinstall and it did not change anything, the notification is still there.

I've been seeing this as well.

At least on W7 Home Premium, Secunia 2.0 is not recognising that these four updates from June 11th have been installed.

Have you all tried using the Windows Update Fix it tool in Windows 7?

Right click the Action Centre in the Task Tray>Troubleshoot a problem>System & Security Header>Fix problems with Windows Update

If that fails have you taken a second opinion on correct installation of Windows Updates?

Download Link & details here.

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.as...

It is easy to understand the output so do not be put off by the IT Professional use bit!
