After using internat Firefox updater and full rescan, this file remains detected, with "Approve Update" besides it. Updated Firefox 22.x is correctly detected.

Any idea why this happens?

This is the location of the zombie installation:

C:\WINDOWS\Temp\7zSCE.tmp\core\firefox.exe, version 21.0.0.4879

Thanks.

Rgds,
mt

Another full rescan gave no improvement. This is the first time Mozilla Firefox update behaved like this. Any idea?

It is Firefox not cleaning up its own dross. Fairly frequent issue on this Forum - examples here:

Just delete the offending file manually.
