I ran secunia 3.0 and it won't update Adobe flash from 12.0,043 to 12.0.0.70 tried it 4 times, maybe i can try a manual update? Also, I am having to reload secunia web pages, and having to start all over again, very annoying, and time consuming.

HP pavilion g6-2225nr
Win 8 X64 V6.2.9 IE 10
Here is a update: went to Adobe shockwave and updated it to V12.1.0.150
secunia scans and says 12.1.0.149 is still there
secunia scans and says Adobe flash still updating to 12.0.0.7 ?????
Google and IE 10 says using v12.0.0.77 already
I did all manually at the adobe sites for each

Yet another update about this that secunia dropped the ball
advisory SA57277 shockwave?

You locked your other thread on this subject without giving the requested information.

Flash update for Windows 8 is controlled by Microsoft hence I asked what link you used to update manually.

The last Windows Update for Flash was issued by Microsoft on 13th March - KB2907997 refers.

Without knowing the paths that PSI gives for Flash or Shockwave no-one can really suggest a solution.

I suspect you have remnants of an older version still installed but require the paths to confirm it.

Do you mean a path like: C:\\???\???\???\???\???\ if so, I'm not quite sure how to obtain that info.
I know were the programs are located. Does that mean that i should uninstall and reinstall the proper updated versions of flash and shockwave flash? My updates from Microsoft on 3/11/14 are
KB:2938527,2930275,2929961,2929755,2925418,2919393 ,2894853,2915036,2912390,2909210, 2904659,2901120,2901119,2898865,2862973,2843630

The other thread gave the instructions on how to extract the path PSI is looking at.

In this instance I would suggest you clear out both Flash & Shockwave & reinstall them. If you wish to proceed the details are here:

Remove Flash using the uninstaller from here:
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-f...

Now do the same for Shockwave using this link:

http://helpx.adobe.com/shockwave/kb/download-shock...

Please follow the Adobe instruction carefully otherwise it will not completely remove all the files

Once you have finished uninstalling both programmes run a full PSI scan. The scan result should NOT show anything Flash or Shockwave.

If that is the case reinstall them both using these links:

Adobe Flash - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.as...

Adobe Shockwave - http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/

Once complete reboot & then complete a full PSI rescan - all should be in order.

The problem with Flash should not arise in the future if you allow Microsoft to update it via Windows Update.

How are you getting on? Are all your programmes now up to date or do you require more help?
