Today I tried to download this new version. Avira Antivirus Pro immediately stopped the download with a virus warning. I sent the file to their virus lab and they confirmed that it's a threat:

The file '5107e22c.vir' has been determined to be 'RISK'. Our analysts named the threat ADWARE/InstallCore.Gen9. Detection is added to our virus definition file (VDF) starting with version 7.11.153.64.

I keep the current version 1.040 until Filehippo solved the problem.

Something odd there.

Loaded that update on two machines yesterday. Both running Norton, No complaints.

Loaded that update on two more machines today. Both running Avast, No complaints.

Just uploaded the installer I used to VirusTotal. Got this response:
SHA256: 4ee4e34b0a6a96ae1b866fb0dd795903b9a1415338c5a2d6c 28ea8a51620300e
File name: FHSetup.exe
Detection ratio: 0 / 54
Analysis date: 2014-09-11 09:32:49 UTC ( 13 hours, 39 minutes ago )

Note, in particular, that Avira (20140911 update) drew a blank in the above analysis, too.

Got my installer yesterday, direct from FileHippo website. If you didn't get yours directly from them, then maybe that's the problem?

Alternatively, maybe a false-positive from Avira that's been fixed with the latest defs? Wouldn't be the first time. Too many false positives was one of the (many) reasons I kicked Avira to the curb several years ago and switched to Avast for most installs. (The Norton installs were NOT my choice. Someone else did that long before I came onboard. I'm just a volunteer consultant there, and I just go with the flow.)

[EDIT] FWIW, it appears that the only user-visible change in version 1.041 is a NEW ICON. I liked the old one MUCH better. More character; not so namby-pamby blah.

Thanks for your reply. Now I know that the only change is the icon I don't worry about this and keep 1.040.
