Symantec recently upgraded this, since when the main product has vanished from the list of programs produced after a PSI scan.

I now have three items showing in that list Norton Power Eraser 4.x and 5.x (which I am looking into) and Symantec tgctlsr Module ActiveX Control 6.x but not the main product.

I have the latest version of NIS [22.5.2.15] so can anyone suggest why PSI scans are not picking it up?

It's not in the Secunia Database seems to be the simple answer Taff.....maybe it ( the database ) is still being updated as I didn't have any luck with another search.

The Norton Blog explains what the update of the engine was for - basically it fixed a few bugs and hardened the programme ready for Windows 10.

NPE 5 is part of the current set up of engine 22.5.2.15.

NPE 4 is not nor is Symantec tgclsr Module ActiveX Control 6 which leads me to believe you have one or more old engines still installed.

You need to suggest the new engine to Secunia using the meta data supplied and it will then show once again.

I do not use PSI so cannot do it for you.

NPE 4 can easily be manually removed. Not so sure about the ActiveX or any other Norton dross you may have.

Maybe you should consider uninstalling via Control Panel>Program & Features. If that does not fully clear things up the excellent Norton Removal Tool will do the business and then reinstall before suggesting it to Secunia.

https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/s...

If you use this option please remember to check your licence(s) status at Help>Account>Services before proceeding.

EDIT: I have now suggested this product to Secunia. If they get their act together it should appear under its new name of Norton Security 22x sometime on Monday.

After a full rescan it should now show as Symantec Norton Security 22x.

Secunia are trying to convince me it was already on their database. If that is the case then it looks like another unexplained bug with PSI because my tests using various OS's and PSI versions 2 and 3 returned the same result as @taffy078. A rescan today after an email from Secunia revealed a different result!

Post transferred from a standalone thread created by @taffy078.

I made the mistake of accepting Maurice's second post before I'd posted the following:

Thanks both. Yes - Symantec Norton Security 22.x is now on the PSI scanned list.
I did email Support - as below - but they must be very busy.

The other program are still there so I'll be uninstalling & re-installing when I've a moment.

Hi. I've created a thread about PSI scans not showing the presence of Norton Internet Security:

The 'Programs' link doesn't work any more and I can't think of any other way for me to check if Norton Internet Security v22.5.2.15 is on your list of File Signatures.

I could use the "are you missing a program?" link but I find it extremely hard to believe that this major product is not on your list of software programs that PSI looks for.

Hoping you can solve this.
