I now 7009 and 7000 errors on every Windows 10 startup thanks to Secunia PSI version 3.0. Just now, Secunia PSI wrote a staggering 258 of them into my Event Viewer! Here they are...

--A timeout was reached (120000 milliseconds) while waiting for the Secunia Update Agent service to connect.

--The Secunia Update Agent service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Secunia PSI, but it hasn't helped.

In services, Secunia Update Agent and Secunia PSI agent are both set to Automatic (Delayed Start). While the latter runs, attempts to manually start the Update Agent results in a Services 1053 popup error:

"The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

Can you please prescribe a fix?

Just read in another thread that if you have PSI set not to autoupdate, this service doesn't run/isn't required.

Thank you for the information.

I tried disabling auto-update.

Now, Secunia PSI will not start on boot, even though it is configured to do so in Settings. A grayed-out icon appears in the system tray. Moreover, when it is manually started, a popup appears saying that a new version of PSI Tray is available, even though Secunia reports a 100% system score and that Secunia 3.0.0.10004 is up to date.

Any ideas?

Michael,

It might not make too much difference to PSI 3 working correctly until Flexera Support sort out their servers but you are not using the latest version which is 10005 released in December 2015.

This FAQ refers reference PSI scan results:
