I have updated Flash Player NPAPI but apparently this still needs updating. The link takes me to ...\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\flash.ocx and the installed version is 27.0.0.130 (IE). My system is Windows 10 Home which has Edge. As far as I remember I did something to deactivate Internet Explorer. My browser of choice is Firefox. Why am I still being prompted to update Flash Player and how do I do that, please?

Peter

Adobe Flash Player ActiveX is part of Windows 10 and must be updated via a hotfix from Microsoft. The patch has not been released yet.

The update for the embedded IE and Edge version of Flash in Windows 10 is available via Windows Update under KB4049179 - a rescan of PSI will show the update as a secure version 27.0.0.170

You may also find that the long awaited Feature Update is available as well. Once installed it will update Windows 10 to version 1709 Build 16299.19.

The windows Update History should show:

KB4049179
KB4041944
KB4043961

Thank you. When I checked yesterday, no updates were available but later on KB4049179 was installed and Secunia is clean now. However I haven't got the other two KB404 updates that you mention. Sorry: when I'm replying on this site I don't have a view of the post to which I am replying. Feature Update was installed on the last day of June.

Peter,
You were running an insider (BETA) version of Windows 10 and I am unsure how that reacts now the stable version has been released. The new Feature Update requires updating then the KB numbers I referred to will show in the history.

This article gives the detail:
