I have the same problem. However, I cannot click on any item which will expand with a description of where the file is. How may I resolve this issue?

Are U sure U are using the advanced mode? Look at the top right corner - the word ADVANCED should be coloured black & the simple mode blue & underlined

I carry out the action outlined below each time I update JAVA - works for me.

Eliminating older versions of JAVA or JRE from your system.

Download the latest Java & verify it is working correctly from here:
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

The next programme will remove all old versions except the one U have just downloaded.

http://raproducts.org/

*This link takes U to the site - select the Windows Binary (zip) option.
*This will lead U to Sourceforge.net to download it.
*Save the download to desktop.
*Activate the desktop zip icon which exposes the JAVARA EXE file. Click it
*Select RUN when asked.
*Select your language.
*The tool will now appear on the desktop - select REMOVE OLDER VERSIONS
*Once complete select ADDITIONAL TASKS - tick all boxes & activate.

This should have completely removed all old versions. To verify this fact
* Go to control panel>add/remove - you should see JAVA(TM)6 Update 13 - there should be NO other references to JAVA or JRE
* Rerun Secunia - U should get a clean bill of health.

* Right click on the desktop JAVARA zip file & delete it.

I followed your instructions and used JavaRa to remove my Java programs and when I checked my Control Panel > Add/Remove programs the only one in the list now is the most recent version: Java(TM) 6 Update 14. But, when I rerun the Advanced Secunia PSI, it still shows that I have a security issue for Sun Java JRE 1.5x / 5x. It shows the affected file Installation Path as C:\i386\java.exe.
In fact, Secunia shows 4 programs that are insecure and all of the file installation paths are C:\i386:
1. Adobe Flash Player 9.x (ActiveX Control) 9.0.28.0 (path is C:\i386\Flash9b.ocx)
2. Java Web Start 5.x 5.0.60.5 (path is (C:\i386\javaws.exe )
3. Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.x (path is C:\i386\msadox.dll)
4. Sun Java JRE 1.5.x / 5.x (path is C:\i386\java.exe)

From reading some other posts I noted that this i386 subdirectory is for backup files - is that true? If so, should I delete these offending files from the subdirectory or should I set Secunia to ignore them? Or, what is the best course of action for me to take in this situation?
Thank you very much for any help.
DrJazz

Absolutely - create an ignore rule as follows - U are perfectly safe.
Creating an IGNORE RULE

Click on the SETTINGS tab>scroll to the bottom & click on CREATE IGNORE RULE

In the RULE NAME BOX insert something like MY BACKUP FOLDER

In the RULE BOX type C:\i386

Click SAVE IGNORE RULE>CLOSE

The drive will continue to be scanned by default but the result will not be published.

Edit: Being a C folder there is also the option to find the files in the i386 folder - Right Click & delete them.
