After a scan with Secunia it detailed Word 2002 as being insecure. Apparently Microsoft no longer support that version. As the result of a suggestion on the forum I loaded Abiword. On opening the Abiword software and clicking on the 'Open' tab I get a list of all the documents I have in Word 2002. If I now uninstall Word 2002 (I still have the download disc) would the saved documents in Word 2002 still be available in Abiword.

Hi rpm236 I don't have experience w/ Abiword but I downloaded OOo & my documents were all available after uninstalling all Office 2007 products. Just be sure to do a backup if your OS doesn't do this automatically so you can rollback to a time before you uninstalled Word.

Good luck & regards, wr
