Tony,
Should not now be a problem. JAVA now includes an uninstaller as part of the install.

Go to Start>Control Panel>click on the JAVA icon>select the Update tab>click the Update Now button.

Once the update is complete take the tick out of box marked "Check for updates auto ....." (This will prevent a useless file called JUSCHED from being place in your start up menu.

Run PSI & all aspects should register as secure.

Hi Maurice, I could not do as you suggested as I completely removed Java 6 to 14 from my pc (including registry values using ccleaner).
I reintalled Java 6 to 14, and from there,I updated java from the control panel. I now have Java 6 to 15.

Thanks Maurice!

One more thing, when I reinstalled Java 6 to 14, a few other java related programs were installed as well, they are:

Java DB 10.4.2.1
Java TM) SE development kit 6 update 14
JavaFX(TM)1.2 5DK

should I remove these from my pc?

If U only use JAVA "normally" all U should have in add/remove is one entry:

JAVA (tm) 6 Update 15

Just remove anything else.

Try this:

If U have not got the latest version of JAVA (Version 6 Update 15) download it from here:
http://www.java.com/en/

Once the update is complete go to Control Panel>JAVA icon>Update Tab and take the tick out of box marked "Check for updates auto ....." (This will prevent a an unnecessary file from starting each time U switch on your PC - PSI is already doing this job for U)

Now remove all the old dross from previous versions.

The tool will remove all old versions, any useless files from previous installs except for the version U have just installed

http://raproducts.org/

*This link takes U to the site - select the Windows Binary (zip) option.
*This will lead U to Sourceforge.net to download it.
*Save the download to desktop.
*Activate the desktop zip icon which exposes the JAVARA EXE file. Click it
*Select RUN when asked.
*Select your language.
*The tool will now appear on the desktop - select REMOVE OLDER VERSIONS
*Once complete select ADDITIONAL TASKS - tick all boxes & activate.

* Right click on the desktop JAVARA zip file & delete it.

Future Updates Of JAVA.

Once all the old JAVA dross is removed future updating is easy.

Go to Start>Control Panel>click on the JAVA icon>select the Update tab>click the Update Now button.

Once the update is complete go to Control Panel>JAVA icon>Update Tab and take the tick out of box marked "Check for updates auto ....." (This will prevent a an unnecessary file from starting each time U switch on your PC - PSI is already doing this job for U)

Run PSI & all aspects should register as secure.

I therefore do not have any version of java installed becuase i have just rebuild my pc.
also there is no "Java icon" in my control panel.

Use Windows Explorer (Windows key +E) then navigate to C:\Program Files and delete Java Folder then navigate to C:\Windows\System32 Folder then delete java.exe, javaw.exe and javaws.exe if present.

many thanks for your response. I have tried all the suggestions but none worked. I took my laptop to my cousin's house and i tried to install it again and it worked fine without any error. I am now confused and dont know what went wrong.
Could the problem have been my Sky broadband connection ?

thanks

Very doubtful if using it in the UK. Sky use the bog standard BT line unbundled via the LLU agreement.

What router did U buy to support sky as an ISP?

I use the sagem router supplied to me by Sky
I also cannot work using remote access connection using the same sky broadband connection at home but it works fine at my cousine's house that is why i am thinking it could be my sky boradband connection.
thanks

Have U set the router up? U may need the instruction book but good routers have settings that can be tweaked. Could be some of your are off by default waiting for U to set it up.
