After scanning a recreation of MSW2K updated to sp3 using O2KSR1aDL.exe and O2kSp3.exe, I was informed by Secunia PSI that the following programs were insecure.
Microsoft Access 2000
Microsoft Excel 2000
Microsoft Outlook 2000
Microsoft PowerPoint 2000
Microsoft Word 2000
In all cases the "extra Information" supplied by PSI (if offered) directed me to
update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.as px?ln=en-us
The faq for this site does not include Office 200 on its support list
In all cases except for word 2000 the "download solution" button went to the same URL.

In the case of word 2000 the "download solution" button went to KB969600 which is a part of the IT Professional Resources which gives no guidance st to the need for or proper order of installing hotfixes relative to what is already installed.

What am I supposed to do? It appeares that anyone that has to rebuild Office 2000 is stranded.

Try a reboot. MS doesn't always actually apply updates before reboots.

The issue is not a problem with installing the updates but rather getting the proper updates to install. Office update has been closed and refers to update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.as px?ln=en-us and that site will not scan for missing office 2000 patches.
