I have 7 instances of insecure MSXML dll files in the Windows/winsxs folder after my most recent scan. I've been advised not to delete anything from this directory since I could "break" my system or render programs inoperable. Are these dll's a threat? Is there a way to clean up my system in order to eliminate insecure, old dll's from the winsxs folder? One more thing, Windows update has not been unable to help me with this. Thank you!

I notice too that in the Secure browsing tab my Internet explorer status shows up multiple times now; 20 times to be exact! My firefox status only shows up 1 time.
Also alot of references in internet explorer are to the winsxs folders...

What is up with that?

I have exactly the same problem. It occurred right after I installed HP printer software from the CD-ROM I received with my new HP BusinessJet 6000 printer. It must have something to do with that. Did you install new software shortly before PSI picked up the problem???

I had the same thing, but now I re-scanned, and it all seems okay. How about everyone else?

Yes; The multiple instances (winsxs folder) in the secure browsing tab seem to be gone now. Secunia seems to have this fixed.
I still have 5 instances of Visual C++ though, listed as insecure...

...same with me - MSXML is gone but 5 instances of C++ remain.

Never mind...I see Secunia removed it from the scan base.

I am also seeing several messages concerning Visual C++...

Question: Are others who see this error also running Windows Vista x64 Edition? (I'm running Vista Home Premium x64)

I'm wondering if the fact that it's x64 has anything to do with it
