I have several programs which make use of Sun JRE (SPSS Statistics 17), Flash (Dreamweaver CS4, Bridge CS4, Extension Manager CS4) and Java Web Start (SPSS Statistics 17). However, these are not picked up by Secunia as being a problem with their respective programs.

These programs (to the fault of their writers) apparently use insecure versions of the JRE, JWS and Flash. Secunia proceeds to blame the actual JRE, Flash and JWS (all patched properly) for the security hole. I believe it should suggest updating these programs, if possible.

I am in Advanced Mode. Thus far, I've simply created Ignore Rules for these programs...

The PSI shows which file specifically is insecure. It has no logical way of knowing what software is using that file. That would require listening in on all your processes. ;)

So how do I patch those holes, or is "ignore" the best route?
