Hi
I tried to remove the secunia from my start up menu, but it is showing like two programs.
Startup
{ } Secunia PSI C:\Progrm Files\Secunia\PSI\psi.exe
{ } Secunia PSI C:\Progrm Files\Secunia\PSI\psi.exe
(second box above has a tick)

When I try to uncheck the box I get an error message. "There is already an enabled/disabled item with the same name. Please rename either the enabled or disabled item"

I thought I could try to uninstall from the control panel, but during uninstall there was also an error message that uninstall failed. It does not show now in the control panel, but is still running and in my program files there is still psi.exe.

How do I resolve this problem? Any help appreciated.

Running Windows XP home sp2

Resolved partially by running Secunia PSI from C:\Program Files\ Secunia\PSI\ psi.exe. and then chose the interface advanced mode and unchecked to start up on boot.. No longer have two programs showing but Secunia does not show in the Control Panel as an installed program, so how can the program be un-installed?

Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
=======================

If a programme is installed using Windows Installer it can be removed by using the Microsoft Cleanup Utility.

Download it from here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Once downloaded, open the programme & scroll up & down looking for the programme U wish to uninstall.

If found, highlight it & click the remove button (bottom right)

Reboot.

All should now be OK.

Hi Greyhair. In your first post you stated that you tried to remove thru control panel. Sounds like it was there at one point. Try uninstalling secunia and go with a fresh install. I use Revo uninstaller. It is a free program, easy to use and very reliable.Do a search and download from there. I did it thru C Net.com.
Once you have successfully downloaded secunia, do your full scan.
