The Secunia scan detects Universal Media Player as a threat because it's out-of-date (end-of-life).

However, it appears that there has only been one version of this program issued. Is this really a threat? Should I uninstall it or just choose 'ignore program'?

Thank you

@lugnaquilla ,

An EOL programme is not supported and so you won't be advised/know if a vumnerability does arise ; only you can decide if the potential risk is wort it .

If you think it is then you can set an "ignore riule" for it , just don't forget it is there .

Perhaps you can find an alternative programme to suit your needs ; it would be "safer" :)))

I always find Gizmo's site gives unbiased advice on FREE software , this a link to Media PLayers on his site :-

Take care
