My QuickTime Player v7.66.71.0 is wrong identified by Secunia PSI as v7.64.17.73. Rescan does not resolve this issue. Anyone else have this issue. Workaround? Solution?

Thanks
Elbe

Hi
First check the file path of the insecure rated Quicktime to see if is in a backup folder or similar.

You could try to reinstall the PSI, we did some server maintenance almost two weeks ago that could cause the PSI not to refresh the scan results.

I already had checked the path to file claimed insecure and compared file properties that clearly states it's 7.66 not 7.64. Tried re-install by new downloaded Quicktime installer as well - selected repair - and again same status.

Can you identify what triggers C:\Program Files\Utils\QuickTime Alternative\QuickTimePlayer.exe be be false identified?

Is PSI checking registry keys or the file properties in the exe?
Might non-default installation path cause false identification?

Meanwhile will try to re-install PSI to report if it resolves the issue.

Uninstalled PSI 1.5.0.0 and installed 1.5.0.1 = same result

Still 1 insecure program identified = Quicktime 7.66 as 7.64
