The HP advisory says that you should be at version 4.000.010.008 or better, but and that is the version that comes down when you do an automatic update. Unfortunately, HP has marked the properties of this file (right click and properties) as 4.0.10.1 even though the program knows it is 4.000.010.008. I suspect that it is just a matter of them compiling it with the wrong meta-data. Anyone know for sure?

Hi,

That is probably a correct guess, and happens more often than you'd think..
We need to correct our detection rule, or make a new one. If you see any files in the HP Update folders with proper version info, please create a software suggestion for this specific file, and mark the suggestion "Attn: Emil".

Hi,
After a lot of looking around I was able to download this version 4.0.10.1 (4.0.10B) dated 31 March 2008. sp38874.exe (2.5MB).
HOWEVER PSI SECUNIA still indicates that the programm is out of date and insecure. Also after a new full scan.
So now Im confused!

Hi,

HP Update 4.x has now been marked as End-Of-Life. No updates, or references, were to be found on the HP sites. However, there should now be a link to version 5.x when you click "solution", and this version should be shown as secure.

hope this helps.
