I was running a german version of firefox when PSI updated it. Unfortunately it didn't care about the previously installed language and installed the english version.
On a sidenote, the update also deleted the custom search engines I had installed (used in the search field on the top right) and replaced them with the standard search engines which come with a new firefox.

That would be correct - the TP version only supports English updates as explained here (detail near the bottom of the J Balle post)

But in that case it should ignore applications it can't properly upgrade (especially if the update causes data loss) or at least display a warning instead of just performing the update.

It will only perform the update if U ticked (checked marked) the box next to the programme.

PSI assumed U wanted that update because U activated it knowing it was the English version only that could be installed.

If U are saying the box was ticked by default then it is a bug.

PSI should install with all the auto update boxes empty.

The user then activates them & they remain active until such time as the user removes the tick (Check Mark).
