Hey secunia team,

Secunia updated today my Opera to a new version. But instead of using the actual used install path c:\programs\browser\opera\ it was installed in a new path c.\programs\opera

The same happened with Thunderbird.

I think thats a bug, isnt it?

Hi,

The automatic upgrading function uses the default settings for the installers whereever possible. This means the installer will likely assume the default "path" for installation.

While some installers do come with parameters to install to specific paths, these parameters apply to all PSI and CSI users. If you have applications installed in non-default locations, I suggest you disable auto-updates for that specific application.

However, I will file a bug concerning this issue, and our developers will look into ways to resolve this issue.
