Over the last 2 weeks PSI has falsely advised that the following product required updating:

Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 [I checked via "Add/Remove Programs" and this service pack is currently installed correctly]. NB: PSI Advises installation Path "N/A"

Hi,

The PSI is not telling you to install Service Pack 3, it's detecting your current installation as a SP3 version of XP. The PSI is most likely making you aware of missing security patches. Please try following this proceduce for updating Microsoft Products:

1) Check Microsoft Update, install all available security patches
2) Reboot
3) Repeat step 1, if anything installed at this step, repeat step 2
4) Run a full rescan with the PSI

This should get you a fully secure XP installation.

hope this helps.

Hi,

I have the same problem. I have ALL updates installed "Windows Automatic Updater is enabled". In fact, on Wednesday, my XP did the 2nd Tuesday of the month update and still PSI says that it is not updated (scanned today, Saturday).

What else could it be?

If U have done as Emil requested U may wish to revert back to an earlier version & try that.

Version 1.5.0.1 - This is currently being used as a cure for some having problems with XP.

Thanks it worked a treat. Now I'm back to 100%

Is there any way to be kept informed when this problem is solved?

Once again thanks!!

Not sure how much longer Secunia will support versions older than V2 once it is out of BETA.

Hopefully on the upgrade to V2 the problem will be solved.

Pleased the temporary fix worked for U.

Hi,

@English Teacher

Did you try following the procedure I outlined in my first reply to this thread? The PSI 2.0 Beta should show all Windows Updates properly, if you have rebooted.
