Currently PSI2 is following directory junctions and maybe symbolic links (I have XP so I cannot test).
This results in duplicated program entries and needles disk i/o.

I would like to request that such links should not be followed.

Not to sure why U have been left behind with your observation.

Interesting theory given that Windows XP does not support symlinks.

Can U post a pictorial of identical files from the PSI read out that are duplicated by the use of Directory Junctions?

POSTING A SCREEN SHOT TO THE FORUM

To post a screen shot to the Forum U need to:

1. Capture the image by using a programme such as:
a. Microsoft Paint - details here:How To Take A Screenshot:
http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Screenshot-in-Micros...
b. Microsoft One Note
c. Microsoft Snippet (Windows 7 & Vista)
d. Any third party equivalent programme.

2. Save the image to an online repository such as Microsoft Skydrive or Office Online or here: http://tinypic.com/

3. Post the hyperlink to the stored online image to the Forum.

Not exactly sure what U mean by needles disk i/o. Are U suggesting that the format of search & transmission by PSI V 2 somehow slows the passage of data between the server & end user?

Hi

We discovered the issue with symlinks a while ago and it should have been fixed in the newest beta. (1.9.0.4001 or newer)
(see version by rightclicking the PSI tray icon and chose "about")

If you are experiencing the issue, try to redownload the PSI Beta from the link below as you might have one of the earlier beta versions:
