PSI 2.0 Beta frequently takes over 90% of CPU time when processing step 3. This leads to extremely slow response time from other programs. Even when I change the priority to low using Task Manager, it still works its way back up into the 80% CPU range.

PSI 2.0 needs a play nice mode which limits CPU time to about 50%. There cold also be some options to limit scans to idle time. Sure, that would extent the amount of time needed to scan the hard drive, but I think the current situation is unacceptable.

I use the same version with Windows Vista Home Premium and up to now I haven't yet observed problems like this. Because the scan takes for me about 5 minutes, I don't worry and don't need priority settings. Maybe you can try to scan early in the morning before starting up apps with high system usage.
