Latest version is: 4.3.0.1110. You can try to update from the Foxit help menu and check for updates now. If update fails you can uninstall Foxit Reader by using Revo uninstaller, which is a free product, and then reinstall the new version. I myself sometimes experience that an update fails and do the same successfully.

I did wonder if you also needed to untick 'Hide protected operating system files', but my 'Midnight' and Default user folders still show up in C:\Users\ anyway. So not that.

Are you Elizabeth Fournoy? If not, perhaps you need to log on as her, or gain Admin rights, before you can see her folders.
(And so much for PSI not retrieving or holding personally identifiable information either way, though I perhaps doubt if you/she is the 1950s film actress).

Anyway, that Foxit is probably an old install file. If the advice above doesn't resolve it, you have three more options:

(i) Double-click on the entry in question, right-click on the Detected Installations entry, and click on the Open Folder entry to be taken to the offending file, from where, if you judge it safe, you can delete it.

(ii) Click the Start button on the desktop, click All Programs, go to Accessories/System Tools/Disc Cleanup, run that, and see if it gets rid of the offending file.

(iii) Download the excellent free CCleaner from
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
and run that. It works very like Disc Cleanup, but is rather more comprehensive, without being any less safe.

I just ran CCleaner on my Vista machine, and it certainly removed a large number of old and unwanted files from my appdata/local/temp. And PSI reported one less app when I'd finished, though of course a current bug in the beta (which Secunia will be addressing) means it didn't tell me what the app was. But whatever it was, it won't have been a live app I was actually using.
