OS: Win7 Pro x64

Behaviour when Workstation service is started:
* PSI 2.0 comes up without errors or hangs, displays list of patched and unpatched software.

Behaviour when Workstation service is stopped:
* When starting PSI 2.0, the Loading screen comes up briefly, but the title bar changes to "Secunia PSI (Not Responding)".
* Screenshot: http://whizzmo.com/images/psi_goes_splat.png
* The PSI UI does not proceed beyond this point, and has to be force-terminated.

psialog.txt contains several lines like the following:
[12/22 11:26:42.335] NetWkstaGetInfo failed 1 times, giving up : (0x0000085a)The Workstation service has not been started.

psialog.txt also contains sections like this:

[12/22 11:32:27.961]
#4000(CF)()
#4001(CF)(5)
#5007(F)()
! -> ##N2138:The Workstation service has not been started.
#4002(S)()
#5101(S)(225)
#10000(S)()
#4003(S)()
#5017(S)()

As non-domain, non-workgroup computer (like many home PCs), my machine has no reason to run any of the NetBIOS-facing services. In the interest of decreasing my attack surface, I choose not to start these services on boot. Perhaps PSI could query the service state of the LanManWorkstation, LanManServer, or LMhosts on launch and infer that if any of these services are stopped, the computer is very likely not a member of a domain?
