Thanks

Did you ever get an answer to this? I'd like to be able to schedule scans.

I find the Schedule quite adequate.

If you have PSI resident then new, deleted or updated applications are indicated immediately.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Indeed, I understand how PSI works when it is resident. The thing is, I don't want it resident ... I don't want the overhead of it being resident ... I don't allow anything like that to be resident.

What I'd like to do is schedule it to run when I'm sleeping, as I do with virus scans, backups, etc.

If it is just missing the ability to do that, it's OK. I'll use Task Scheduler or just set reminders for myself to start it as one of the last things before I leave the machine for the day.

I've just started using PSI and thought perhaps I'd just overlooked a scheduling capability.

Thanks again.

Resident means that a program is running all the time - sometimes you will see an icon in the system tray (you will if psi is running).

I too would like the ablility to schedule the scan for "off hours" for the same reasons.

I couldn't find any information about command line flags/options for this program to start the scan via the task scheduler builtin to windows xp.

I've not been able to find any info about command line parameters either.

It's a very useful program. I will use Task Scheduler to load it, even without parameters. It'll serve as a very effective reminder when PSI shows up on my screen.

it's a shame no one from secunia reads these questions..maybe then we could find an answer to the scheduling situation.[b]
