Have seen many threads on this but no answers from PSI so I'm starting a new one in an attempt to get an explanation. If PSI means to ID Adobe Reader as a security risk regardless of update fix (and some do), PSI should say so.

My default PDF Reader is PDF-XViewer. Can I delete Adobe Reader altogether? Others have said no. Catch-22. This is no doubt the most reported problem in the forum.

Hi,

Adobe Reader has a 'complex' updating system, that requires you to update over several turns. Try applying the update again, and you should be up to date. Has this resolved the problem?

Either way, Adobe Reader is not a critical system component, but simply one of many PDF readers available on the market. It can be replaced with any other reader you prefer, unless you need documents with embedded javascript, flash, and other 'things' Adobe's reader offers..

hope this helps.

@rroberto18

The short answer to your question is U can uninstall your Adobe Reader. PDF-XViewer is a very good replacement.

I wrote an article on PDF readers some months ago which is by enlarge still relevant today.

It is here if U want to read it.
