Although I have tried many times over a couple of years at least I cannot get PSI to complete the network connection/verification/??? It just sits there with one minute red square showing.
I run CSI just fine.
I use a Compaq with AMD, running XP SP2.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have a look at the FAQ to ensure U have it set up correctly particularly here:

http://secunia.com/products/consumer/PSI/faq/#s3

Is your data showing correctly - looks like U only have SP2 installed unless U are using a 64 Bit version.

Some functions of PSI are reliant on IE as explained here:

http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal...

IE does not have to be the default browser but must be configured.

My Microsoft Update had quit working, and I could not figure out how come until PSI walked me thru the solution.

Microsoft Update will only work thru IE, not other browsers (Fire Fox is what I currently use), and only thru a version of IE which is supported. I had not been updating IE, because I was not using it ... bad mistake.

Even though we might not be using something, malware etc. can mess with it, so if we have something on our PC, even if we don't use it very often, it still needs to be kept current, and PSI lets us know what is in that category of needing updates.

Al Mac = new user.
Al Mac 99 = user from home PC
Al Mac KE = me same user but on PC I use to VPN to work.

I have IE 8 installed although I use it seldom.
Is there any way to point PSI to it?

Hi,

The PSI Will always use IE since this is embedded into the operating system. Your personal choice of browser does not affect this.

Are you able to access https://psi.secunia.com? What happens?

How about http://crl.thawte.com?

For the first I get the Product page for PSI.
For the second I get an index page with several hundred entries.
