4) Description of Vulnerability
Secunia Research has discovered a vulnerability in SyndeoCMS, which
can be exploited by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused by the application improperly validating
uploaded files via e.g. the image upload functionality of the CKEditor,
which can be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code by uploading a PHP
file with e.g. an appended ".jpg" file extension.
Successful exploitation requires that the web server is not configured
to handle the mime-types for files with e.g. a ".jpg" or ".gif"
extension.
